Flood risk

Before you submit your planning application

Before you submit your planning application, check whether you need to include additional information on flood risk and sustainable drainage. If you don’t submit the information you need:

  • The LPA may not validate your application
  • The Environment Agency and Lead Local Flood Authority are more likely to object to your application
  • The LPA may refuse planning permission

Providing the right information first time, is likely to:

  • Reduce the chances of receiving objections to your application
  • Avoid delays to the LPA deciding your application
