What is the nutrient mitigation scheme?

The nutrient mitigation scheme allows Natural England to sell nutrient credits to housebuilders. Similar nutrient credit trading schemes are available both privately and through local planning authorities. However, it is preferable to seek onsite mitigation due to the lack of off-site mitigation available.
